Palliative Care

We are proud to offer a palliative care service at our care home in Clydebank that has been specifically designed to support our residents fully who are in the final days, weeks or months of their lives. We also support their loved ones during this time in what is understandably an emotional and difficult period.

We take pride in being able to help support individuals in the community in a compassionate way and our dedicated team of care professionals work tirelessly to ensure residents receiving palliative care have the most dignified and comfortable time possible.

What is Palliative Care?

Palliative care, which is also known as end-of-life care, is provided to individuals who are living with a critical illness or health condition and who are in the final days, weeks, or months of their life. Someone may be at the end of their life due to natural deterioration or because they have terminal illnesses and life-limiting conditions such as cancer, advanced dementia or heart disease.

Comfort is vital for those receiving palliative care, and the main aim in any care establishment is to lessen an individual’s pain as well as other symptoms, ensure their dignity is maintained, and that their wishes are fulfilled.

Family members are also supported by care home staff, enabling residents to spend time with those close to them, and giving them the support they need to help get through this difficult period.
