Arts & Crafts

Taking part in group activities while staying with us here at Kingsacre Care Home is a great way to make brand new friends and get a little bit crafty while you’re at it. Even more so when you’re taking part in one of our exciting Arts & Crafts sessions. From painting to sculpting, all the way to collaging, there’s always something new and interesting for our residents to try their nimble fingers at.

Being creative isn’t all about the end result. If you happen to create a masterpiece by the end of one of our Arts & Crafts sessions that looks absolutely amazing, that’s fantastic. However, being creative has plenty of amazing mental and physical benefits that are incredible for our residents at Kingsacre Care Home. So, no matter what you end up creating, you’re bound to have had a great time while creating it.

Get Crafty with Confidence

The thing we love most about getting crafty at Kingsacre Care Home is that there’s no wrong way to do it. Being creative isn’t about rules, regulations and getting things right. It’s about trusting your gut and having the confidence to get things wrong. If your masterpiece doesn’t turn out quite as you’d imagined it, there’s no need to panic. It’s all about perspective, and if you’re having fun creating it and (let’s face it…) getting a little bit messy when it comes to glitter and PVA glue, then we think you’ve definitely succeeded.

Another great thing we love about our Arts & Crafts sessions here at Kingsacre Care Home is the ability they have to bring residents from all walks of life together. Whether we’re making homemade Play-Doh, decorating eggs just in time for Easter, or getting busy with paper crafts to spread some holiday cheer, getting involved with Arts & Crafts gives many of our residents the confidence to get to know their neighbours and potentially make friends with people they might not have had the chance to do otherwise.

A Wide Range of Inclusive Facilities

All of our programmes and facilities at Kingsacre Care Home have been built and developed in a way that is guaranteed to improve the lives of our residents. Our programme might have more of a focus on social interactions on one day, and it might have a focus on physical movement on the next; this is done to best help our residents succeed every day, and it’s something we’re very proud of.

We constantly encourage our residents to try and step a little bit outside of their comfort zone. We want them to be able to try out new activities in a safe, controlled and regulated way, and fill them with the confidence they need to continue living fulfilled and happy lives.

Let Your Imagination Run Wild

We’ve always tried to draw inspiration from our residents, as well as our environment when it comes to our Arts & Crafts programmes at Kingsacre Care Home. We are more than happy to make the most of what we have, whether it’s through throwing fantastic Craft Classes in the living rooms for our residents and their loved ones or by taking full advantage of the beautiful location we’re lucky enough to live in and taking to the garden to take some stunning photographs or paint some incredible pictures.

Arts and Crafts FAQ

Here at Kingsacre Care Home, we get a lot of questions about our Arts & Crafts sessions, and we’re more than happy to answer them. We understand that before making the big decision to move in with us, our residents and their loved ones want to know absolutely everything they can about how we do things at Kingsacre Care Home. So, to make that process a little bit easier here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked Arts & Crafts-related questions:

When it comes to our Arts & Crafts sessions, there’s a lot of variety. Depending on whatever holiday might be right around the corner, we often make our very own decorations to celebrate the season and make Kingsacre Care Home a little bit more festive. We also have activities such as making our very own essential-oil infused Play-Doh, to really help with relaxation. We have plenty of creative opportunities for each and every one of our residents.

Most of the time, the masterpieces you create are all yours to decide what to do with. If you would like to proudly display your creation in your room, or if you would like to gift it to a friend, family member or fellow resident, you’re more than welcome to do so. You might even be given the opportunity to display it proudly on the walls of Kingsacre Care Home for all residents and visiting guests to see.

All of the activities you take part in on Kingsacre Care Home premises are usually included within the initial overall residents’ fee you pay. Of course, there are certainly individual exceptions to this, but they are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. All art supplies, however, are covered by your fee.

Our Arts & Crafts sessions run frequently and usually last between 1-3 hours depending on the activity. New schedules and activities are planned every week, so there’ll never be a dull moment while staying at Kingsacre Care Home. Usually, there is one Arts & Crafts session per week.

Uplifting & Inspiring Our Residents

We’re honoured to be part of their story, and happy to support them no matter where life takes them next.
