Our Dementia Care team has received extensive training in all elements of Dementia, leaving them fully equipped to provide care in a safe, caring, and welcoming setting. Residents experiencing the frustrations and tensions associated with Dementia are eased through a considered combination of skilled medical care and daily planned activities, social and mental stimulation, and regular engagement and support.
What does Dementia Care Mean?
Our approach to care is intended to help maintain resident’s sense of self and independence for as long as possible. Here at Kingsacre Care Home, we recognise that no two individuals are the same and while some may only require modest assistance in managing their daily lives while living with Dementia, others may require much more support.

How Can Dementia Care Help You?
Our skilled nursing team are experienced in working with individuals who have experience/are experiencing memory loss and a variety of other Dementia related symptoms. Our purpose built home is fully fitted with all required facilities to assist residents in living independently in a truly comfortable environment. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, our dedicated care teams are on hand to support and assist residents, allowing them to enjoy their day.
When it comes to assisting residents with Dementia, there is no one-size-fits-all approach, which is why our Dementia Care plans at Kingsacre Care Home are completely tailored to each individual’s needs.
Our Dementia Care at Kingsacre Care Home
Our home is designed to provide a secure and friendly environment for those living with Dementia. Our teams receive ongoing specialised training in the most up-to-date dementia approaches and research techniques, ensuring that only the very best support is being provided.
We ensure all staff are trained to Informed and Skilled level in The SSSC Promoting Excellence framework, with many staff holding advanced level qualifications within this framework. The SSSC Promoting Excellence framework details the knowledge and skills all health and social services staff should aspire to achieve in relation to the role they play in supporting people with a diagnosis of dementia, and their families, and carers. It is underpinned by values and principles that reflect what people with dementia, and their families and carers have said are most important to them.
Together with family and loved ones our staff take time to get to know our residents in order to create an accurate picture of their life, in order to enhance their ongoing happiness, comfort, and well-being.

For both individuals living with Dementia and their loved ones and caregivers, Dementia can present a number of challenges every day, where daily tasks become difficult to accomplish. Our staff are fully trained to understand Dementia and we take pride in providing the highest levels of care and respect for every individual.

Dementia Care Inclusives
From Optician appointments to GP access, staying at Kingsacre Care Home includes access to a variety of services that ensure all residents are living the most comfortable and enjoyable life possible. Inclusives include, but are not limited to the following:
Appointments with GPs
Caring for the health of our residents, includes having regular visits with their local GP. Transport to and from can be arranged with the home. The cost is included within the overall care home fee.
All residents have access to a professional dentist who will look after the overall oral health of residents and prevent and/or treat dental and oral disease(s). Check up services are included within the overall care home fee, with treatments being provided at an additional cost.
Our residents have access to our professional optician where visual needs will be assessed, discussed and treated. This service is included within the overall care home fee, however glasses come at an additional cost.
Residents are offered regular Physiotherapy sessions at no extra cost if referred by a GP. Gentle Physiotherapy sessions include chair based exercises; experience has shown us that attendance holds many benefits for all resident types, including improving strength, flexibility and balance.
Some of our residents may require attention from a Chiropodist and whilst one of our friendly team members will be more than happy to arrange this, this service will come at an additional cost.
