Celebrating International Nurses Day with Special Afternoon Tea

Residents and staff at Kingsacre Care Home, Clydebank, came together to celebrate International Nurses Day with a special afternoon tea dedicated to recognising our incredible, hardworking nursing team.
Organised and hosted by Home Manager Nicola Dow, the celebration provided our nurses with an opportunity to take time out of their busy schedules to relax, share stories from their careers and reflect on why nursing means so much to them.

Nurses enjoyed a selection of celebratory food and soft drinks during the afternoon event, with each nurse also receiving a small gift as a token of appreciation for the compassion, dedication and professionalism they show every day at Kingsacre Care Home.
International Nurses Day is celebrated annually on 12th of May, marking the birthday of pioneering nurse Florence Nightingale.
Residents were also invited to share what they value most about the nurses and the care provided at Kingsacre, with many speaking warmly about the kindness, patience and support shown by the team every day.
Speaking after the event, staff said it was wonderful to feel appreciated and to have the chance to celebrate their profession together.

Home Manager Nicola Dow said: “Our nurses do an incredible job every single day, showing compassion, dedication and professionalism to our residents and their families. International Nurses Day was the perfect opportunity to thank them for everything they do and to ensure they felt recognised and appreciated.”
Pictured celebrating International Nurses Day were Terry O’Shaughnessy, Julie Martin, Selorm Lawson, Maxwell Agaypong, Jessy Joseph, Silvia Thomas, Anija Joseph, Jincy George and Sandra Connelly.
