Celebrating the Opening of Our New Unit
This week, we proudly opened our new Windsor Unit, and to celebrate, we asked our longest serving resident Vernon West to cut the ribbon. Vernon was joined by West Scotland MSP Pam Gosal, and together they officially opened our new living space.
Our luxury, all-inclusive care facility opened in June 2019, and our friendly and professional team have delivered unrivaled levels of Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite Care ever since. In addition to our care services, we have 66 elegantly designed rooms, and high-end facilities such as Libraries, a Cinema, a Hair & Beauty Salon, and Private Gardens.
Now with the opening of our new Windsor Unit, we have a further 17 beautifully decorated en-suite rooms, and the wing boasts its very own Dining Room, Lounge and Library.
Upon opening the unit, Ms Gosal commented: "It was a privilege to open the final unit at the Kingsacre care home, which I have no doubt will prove to be a fantastic place to live and work.
“It has been incredible to see first-hand the astonishing work being carried out by health and social care staff from across the region.
“Care homes have suffered immensely throughout the pandemic and it has been a valuable experience to hear about the challenges faced over the last two difficult years by care home staff and residents alike.”
Our Home Manager Karlynn Wheelan added: "I am grateful to Pam Gosal for opening the final unit at Kingsacre today.
“Staff and residents alike are very excited to finally see the new unit open, and we look forward to working hard to make Kingsacre a great place to both live and work.”
To help further celebrate the opening of the Windsor Unit, our talented catering team hosted the wing's very first afternoon tea, something that has proven popular will our residents in the past.
This celebration marked the completion of the fourth and final part of our home. Everyone at Kingsacre Care Home is incredibly delighted and proud to have reached this milestone, and we look forward to welcoming more residents and providing more opportunities for them to live a rich and fulfilling life.
