Countdown to Christmas at Kingsacre Care Home in Clydebank
The residents at Kingsacre Care Home got into the festive spirit with a variety of community engagements and activities in December. In the heartwarming spirit of the festive season, Kingsacre Care Home recently engaged in many activities in the lead-up to Christmas, fostering community connections within Dunbartonshire.
Gary from Mind and Draw joined us for a delightful arts & crafts session, where residents created beautiful Christmas cards and charming drawings, bringing creativity and a sense of achievement among residents.
As part of our commitment to community involvement, we attended the Seniors Christmas Lunch at Dunbarton Football Club, strengthening ties with the local community and spreading the joy of the season. Residents enjoyed their Christmas lunch, socialising with fellow residents and staff and meeting other seniors from local care homes. Everyone donned festive hats and enjoyed listening to Christmas tunes. Some residents got up to dance with staff members in the middle of the hall... the festivities were in full swing!
Residents were delighted to meet one of our staff members Kelly's horse, Freckles, who greeted residents from the garden wearing festive tinsel. Some residents fed carrots to Freckles and enjoyed stroking him. The horse's calming presence provided a wonderful sensory activity to residents.
These activities and events not only enhance the well-being of our residents but also contribute to the festive spirit within the community. The positive community links bring a sense of togetherness and shared joy during a special time of the year.
