Kingsacre Care Inspectorate Grades Party

Kingsacre Party Away in Celebration of Care Inspectorate Grades

This month the residents of Kingsacre got into the party spirit by singing some ultimate classics at the Care Inspectorate Grades party, an event held to celebrate the all-round good grades our home has achieved. This is a true testament to Kingsacre Care Home and how hard the team works to ensure residents are offered high-quality care and an abundance of fun activities to participate in.

The Care Inspectorate is a regulatory body which supports improvement and high standards within care homes located in Scotland. They look at the quality of care given as well as other factors to ensure homes are operating at a high standard and where they find that improvement is needed, they offer support services to make positive changes.

When inspecting Care Homes they will provide them with care services grades, looking at key areas like care and support, physical environment, quality of management and leadership. Each area of each care service is assessed on a scale from 1 to 6. After every inspection, they will publish an inspection report showing the findings, which is beneficial for those seeking accommodation in a care facility.

As a result of the good grades we received, we held a party where residents danced the day away whilst being accompanied by a live singer and enjoying unlimited ice cream.

Here’s what our Home Manager Karlynn Wheelan had to say about the event:

"We are absolutely delighted to have invited friends and family to our outdoor celebration for our Care Inspectorate grades on Friday. Special thanks to our lovely neighbour Iain for bringing up his ice cream van and treating us all….it was delicious! A special thanks also to Christeen for her fabulous singing. Lastly, thank you to all the team at Kingsacre who have worked incredibly hard to achieve these grades.”

Residents, families, friends and staff alike all thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful Care Inspectorate grades party.

We are extremely proud of the hard work our staff do in order to ensure our residents have the most safe and rewarding stay at Kingsacre Care Home which is evident throughout our latest Care Inspectorate Report.

At Kingsacre Care Home we encourage our residents to participate in a variety of different activities and projects whilst making use of the beautiful gardens taking in the beautiful surroundings.

We often host activities out in our grounds where loved ones of our residents can attend and spend time taking in the breathtaking views. Hosting garden parties is the perfect way for our residents to socialise, get to know like-minded residents and also feel a sense of independence and responsibility.

We have seen first hand benefits that the outdoors can have on residents, which is why whenever the weather allows, our teams go to great efforts to arrange activities that can be taken outside.
