Our Success Story: Celebrating Our SQA Gaelic Graduate

Here at Kingsacre Care Home, we're proud to say we now have a graduate! After a 10 week course, lead by Lingo Flamingo within our care home, at 82 years of age, Gordon has received his first ever qualification from the Scottish Qualifications Authority in Gaelic.

It is an amazing achievement, even for Lingo Flamingo; Gordon was their first ever Gaelic graduate.

This beautiful journey was shared and broadcasted on BBC alba and Aithris Na Maiden on BBC Radio.

Here at Kingsacre, we are always striving to ensure our residents take part in whatever activity they wish to and we're immensely proud of Gordon. His graduation ceremony took place within our care home on Thursday 8th March, 2024, with many residents present who had also taken part in Gaelic lessons.

This whole activity and experience has been great to be apart of, watching our residents learning a new language has ensured they're able to continue living their lives to the fullest and overall, gaining more self confidence. Gordon was also featured in our local newspaper; he made the front page!

Meal do naidheachd agus math a rinn thu Gordon!
