What to Expect From Our Dining Experience at Kingsacre

The dining experience at Kingsacre Care Home is an important part of life here at our care home in Clydebank. Meal times are often a time of the day looked forward to by all, therefore we want the experience to be as pleasant as possible.

Our dedicated on-site chefs and kitchen staff can cater to a variety of dietary requirements, tastes, and preferences. A 'food passport' is created on the admission of a new resident which helps us to find out about a resident's likes and dislikes to ensure that during each mealtime, they receive a meal that is nutritious, tasty and meets their expectations.

Meet a few of the kitchen team that makes the magic happen behind the scenes. Mark Burrows, Head Chef (left) and Johnathon Burke, Kitchen Porter (right) love nothing more than satisfying our residents' tastebuds during each meal time.

One of our popular light meals that can be enjoyed by both residents and their relatives is our afternoon tea. Below is an example of what you would expect to see presented on the three-tiered plates. A variety of savoury and sweet food includes a selection of finger sandwiches, mini pots of trifles, cake slices, macaroons, biscuits, savoury pies and scotch eggs... Yum!

We have a few dining rooms that provide a welcoming atmosphere and are equipped with everything our residents could need. The dining rooms create a wonderful buzz during mealtimes where residents are often socialising with others while enjoying great food.

Residents have the option of dining in our communal dining room, in our private dining room with their loved ones for special occasions, or in their bedroom if they would prefer.

Below are just a few examples of the homemade food that's prepared by the kitchen team and enjoyed by our residents: Love heart jelly with fruits of forest berries, homemade cheese and leek quiche, apple strudel, vanilla strawberry muffins and marvelous celebration cakes.

The kitchen team also prepares themed menus for national days such as Burns Night, Valentine's Day and Christmas.

We will continue providing fantastic food and a wonderful dining experience for our residents. The kitchen team is open to taking requests from residents; whether it's wanting to see a specific food item on the menu or requesting a special meal for their birthday, the happiness of our residents is at the forefront of everything we do.
